Multiple fire departments were quick to put out a small garage fire at a home on the Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory over the noon hour.
At 12:35 p.m. members from Mohawk, Tyendinaga Territory and Deseronto stations were called to 1886 York Road east of Wyman Road and had it out within an hour.
Mohawk Fire Chief Scott Maracle says there was only one gentleman home at the time and he was out of the house when firefighters arrived.
He says he thinks it was a light that could have started the fire and it’s still too early to tell the amount of damages.
