The Trenton Golden Hawks have made a splash on deadline day, with a major acquisition from the QMJHL (part of the CHL).
The GHawks have acquired the rights to forward Anthony Sorrentino. Sorrentino scored 46 points in two seasons in the Q, with the Halifax Mooseheads and Cape Breton Screaming Eagles.
His OJHL rights were property of the Burlington Cougars, so the G-Hawks sent Austin Bottrell to Burlington before the deadline. Bottrell, a Michigan native, scored 34 points in 38 games for Trenton.
Sorrentino is 6’5/220 pounds and is described as a goal scorer. He will be on an AP card and will be available to the Hawks starting Friday night in Markham, 7:20 on CJBQ for Eastern Overhead Doors.
