24 year old Quinte Secondary School graduate Chad Bain of Belleville will become the first domestic player to sign with the expansion Toronto Wolfpack professional rugby club.
Bain was named the “Man of the Match” in the Toronto trialists win over Brighouse Rangers of the West Yorkshire rugby league side last month. Bain is a past MVP with the Belleville Bulldogs and is training with Toronto at Brighouse. They will play a friendly against Challenge Cup holders Hull in England later this month.
Toronto is the only North American club in the 16 team “League 1”. They will play their home games at Lamport Stadium in Toronto.
