A city man has been charged in connection with a stabbing that happened in downtown Belleville during the early morning hours on New Year’s Day.
At 2:10 a.m. Belleville police were called to a Front Street bar in relation to a disturbance.
It was determined as a result of a fight inside the bar, one person had been stabbed.
A short time later, police arrested and charged the suspect, 24-year-old Brandon Blanchard with aggravated assault.
He was released with a February court date.
The victim sustained abdominal injuries as a result of this incident but voluntarily discharged himself from KGH on January 1.
