The Belleville Police service responded to 48 calls for service between 5 a.m. on the 2nd of January 2017 and 5 a.m. on the 3rd of January 2017.
Assault
At 7:30 p.m. on January 2nd, 2017 police responded to an assault call at the Tim Hortons on North Front Street. A 79 year old woman was struck in the side of the head by a male suspect. After this unprovoked attack the male immediately fled the scene on foot. The victim was not injured. At 9:30 p.m. police received a complaint in the city’s old east hill area about a male unwanted in an apartment complex. The 39 year transient male was arrested and charged with assault and fail to comply with a court order. The male will appear in Belleville Bail court later today.
