A 56-year-old Belleville man has been charged with two counts each of assault and uttering threats following a domestic dispute in Prince Edward County.
According to police, officers were called to Prince Edward Memorial Hospital on Friday where a 59-year-old Picton resident disclosed she had been assaulted by her common law husband over the previous two days.
The victim suffered non-life threatening injuries as a result of the assaults.
Officers located and charged the man. He was released with a Picton court date on January 25.
