A Marmora man has had his sentencing on child porn and sex offenses pushed back, as lawyers consider a sex offender report, before giving their submissions on a punishment.
The man, whose name is protected by publication ban, has been in custody since his arrest in March and pleaded guilty to all charges in October.
Those charges included possessing and making child porn, voyeurism and sexual interference.
According to the facts of the case, the man was found to be taking inappropriate photos of his young niece and touching her while she was sleeping.
The incidents date back to 2005, when the girl was between the ages of 11 and 13 years old.
Investigators became aware after the accused lent a CD to a friend, which contained images of adult pornography, along with photos of the girl.
While delivering a victim impact statement on Friday, the girl told court she’s developed trust and relationship issues, but also says she holds no negative emotions towards the accused.
Sentencing submissions will be given on January 9th at 9:00 a.m. and Crown Attorney Lee Burgess expects the sentence to be handed down that day as well.
