Workers with Veridian Connections, which supplies power to a number of municipalities including Belleville, have reached a significant safety milestone.
At Veridian’s annual holiday luncheon today President and CEO Michel Angemeer announced the company’s 225-plus employees have now gone more than 1.5 million hours without a lost-time workplace injury.
According to a press release issued today, “the milestone required four years of work and builds on a previous record of over 10 years without a lost-time injury.”
Angemeer called the accomplishment the result of strong support and oversight from the board of directors, management and health and safety committees, along with cooperation with unions like the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
