A Centre Hastings land owner has received a hefty fine, after illegally constructing a dam, which altered water flow.
Kevin Strong was fined $99,000 under the Conservation Authorities Act and the Lakes and Rivers Improvement Act.
Strong was accused of making a dam, to create a pond on his property between January 2010 and May 2013.
The water near Moreland Lake would normally flow into Rawdon Creek.
Strong was forced to destroy the dam to restore the water flow.
He was found guilty of water course interference.
