Ontario is supporting Quinte Economic Development Commission & Loyalist College on a skills training program that will give jobseekers a training opportunity in the manufacturing sector that can lead to long term employment.
MPP for Northumberland-Quinte West Lou Rinaldi was at the Quinte Business Development Centre Friday morning where he announced that the province is investing $895,000 in Elevate Plus, a new skills training pilot for the manufacturing sector in the Quinte region.
The project will train up to 120 people in industry-specific skills for future employment. Employer partners in the project will host placements that have the potential to turn into permanent positions for job seekers with long-term sustainability and opportunities for advancement.
To date, there have been 11 graduates of the program and all later found employment.
