A Belleville native and a Wellington Duke will be wearing the red and white, starting this weekend.
Hockey Canada has announced the rosters for the World Junior A Challenge in Bonneyville, Alberta and the Canada East roster will include Nic Mucci and Aidan Girduckis.
Girduckis, a member of the Carleton Place Canadians and former Duke, is a 6’5 defencemen on the NHL watch list, while Mucci is tied for first in league points in the OJHL.
Just before getting on the flight for Alberta, Mucci told Quinte News about how he found out he made the team.
Wellington Coach and GM Marty Abrams says it wasn’t a big surprise for him that Mucci made it.
Girduckis tells Quinte News it is a big honour and will help develop his game.
More than two dozen players, coaches or staff from the Dukes have been a part of Team Canada, since the tournaments inception. That is one of the highest in the CJHL.
