The Wellington Dukes had a great start to their weekend Friday night, with a convincing win over the Pickering Panthers.
As heard on CJBQ, the Dukes would score three times in the second and third periods in a 6-1 win.
Nic Mucci and Justin Bean both had big games, combining for 6 points. Connor Ryckman made 19 saves
Meantime, those Fury were on the road in Trenton on Friday night, to meet their East Division rival the Trenton Golden Hawks.
The first 20 minutes were quiet, with both teams sharing chances, but coming up with zeros.
In the 2nd, Trenton struck first with Chris Sekelyk scoring on a breakaway. Later in the period the Fury would tie it up. It remained tied after 40, with Trenton ahead on shots 24-21.
Whitby would score in the first three minutes of the third on the power play, after two men got in behind the D. They would then score their 2nd of the period at 12:26, making it 3-1.
The GHawks were unable to solve the tight Fury play in the 3rd and it would finish 3-1.
Trenton is on the road Saturday night, as they travel to Mississauga for a date with the Chargers. Puck drop is 8:00 p.m, but you can hear the game on CJBQ with Brock Ormond starting at 7:50 p.m
