The long standing court battle between a Warkworth area breeder of rare sheep, a well-known raw milk advocate, and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, is over.
This week, a judge said the dispute between sheep breeder Linda “Montana” Jones, Michael Schmidt, and the federal agency had taken too long to get to trial.
The charges against Jones and Schmidt were stayed, and the court process is over.
Four years ago, 31 rare Shropshire sheep were taken from Jones’ Warkworth area farm just before they were to be euthanized by the Food Inspection Agency due to concerns about disease infecting the herd.
