Discussion on a new home for Quinte Health Care in The County took centre stage Tuesday night.
During the QHC Board of Directors meeting in Picton, Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital Foundation Executive Director Penny Rolinski talked to members about their strategic plan moving towards 2020.
Rolinski discussed having a new hospital in the municipality. She says the fact that QHC has it as their highest redevelopment priority is critical.
The Ministry of Health and Long Term Care has now received the Master Plan for the hospital and Rolinski says they are still in the pre-capital submission stage.
She says they will then start to look at what services the hospital should have and how it fits in with other local health care services and other QHC sites.
Space, diagnostic imaging, emergency, walk ins, and costing, are also priorities that Rolinski says they need to have ready, to get shovels in to the ground.
