Belleville police officers, with weapons at the ready, conducted a high risk vehicle stop earlier this morning (Saturday).
A woman called police after 1 this morning, saying a man had pointed a handgun at her while in her vehicle.
When officers arrived, the man drove away with the woman, but police stopped the vehicle on Cannifton Road.
A 34 year old man, who had been living in Belleville recently, was arrested at gunpoint on weapons charges.
City police say more detail is expected to be released on the case as the investigation continues.
