Some good news for the Belleville Firefighters Toy Drive, it will be moving into a new headquarters-warehouse location.
Toy Drive spokesman Ryan Turcotte appeared before city council this week to give councillors an update on the charity drive.
Turcotte says charities like this “foster a sense of community.”
The city has arranged to have the Toy Drive move to the second floor of the Royal Canadian Legion Building where it will prepare the toys for about 1600 children.
Turcotte says firefighters spend about $50,000 a year buying toys, and donations of toys or money can be made at the Station Street and Moira Street fire halls, and at Quinte Mall, once Santa Claus arrives on Saturday.
