It was a tough night on the ice for local Jr C hockey teams.
The Picton Pirates were blasted 9-2 by the undefeated Port Hope Panthers, while the Campbellford Rebels remained winless in a 7-3 defeat at the hands of the Gananoque Islanders.
In Port Hope, Devin Morrison had a goal and an assist for the Pirates, and Tye Eaton also scored. Aaron Young and Brendan Macham both saw action in the Picton net.
Meanwhile in Campbellford, Nicholas Grosjean scored a pair of unassisted goals for the host Rebels and Austin Vallier added the other tally. Brandon Soucy stopped 30 pucks in the cage.
Campbellford finishes the back end of a home-and-home set with the Islanders in Gananoque tonight at 7:00. Napanee is also in action against Amherstview, game time is 7:30.
