Prince Edward County council could see a raise in salary next year.
On Thursday, the committee of the whole carried a motion that would give mayor and council a 1.4% increase in pay.
It was decided that because council is still trying to encourage residents under 50-60 years of age to run for council, more incentives would help with that. Council issued a bump in pay last year for virtually the same reason.
With the increase the mayor will receive $38,539.00, councillors $19,269.00, committee chair $1,606.00 and committee meeting and chair honorarium $130.00.
