The M-P-P for the Napanee area wants an Ontario Senate.
Randy Hillier says an elected provincial senate, whose representation is based on communities of interest, not population, wouldn’t be influenced by political patronage.
The representative for Lanark-Frontenac-Lennox and Addington says sober second thought and review is more relevant provincially than federally, because there is a more substantial and direct relationship of services between provincial governments and the people.
Hillier thinks the provincial senate could improve relations between Liberal urban Ontario and Conservative rural parts of the province.
