A minor train derailment is causing some traffic hiccups just east of Belleville Friday afternoon.
CN rail says a set of wheels on one of its freight trains slipped off the track, near Shannonville Road, causing the train to stop and block the roadway north of Highway 2.
Spokesperson Patrick Waldron tells Quinte News the train is still upright and mechanics are on scene, trying to get the wheels back on track.
Waldron says there’s no exact timeline for when the tracks will be cleared, so drivers should avoid Shannonville Road, just north of Highway 2 until further notice.
