The Stouffville Spirit got the better of the Trenton Golden Hawks in a back-and-forth battle last night in a 7-4 score.
The G-Hawks got two goals from Austin Tonkovich and singles from Ture Linden and Jeremy Pullara.
Chris Janzen only made 17 saves on 22 shots before being pulled in favour of rookie backup Evan Morrison.
The loss was just Trenton’s third of the season in 15 games.
The G-Hawks finish off their “three-in-three” when they travel to Toronto to take on the Jr. Canadiens. Puck drop is 7:30.
Meantime, in Provincial Jr. C play, the Picton Pirates rocked the Campbellford Rebels 9-1 on the strength of nine different goal-scorers.
Ryan Fraser led the way with three points and four other Pirates had multi-point games.
Brendan Macham made 28 saves in net.
Cam O’Rourke had Campbellford’s only goal.
The Rebels are in Port Hope today to tangle with the undefeated Panthers.
