The Belleville Police Service responded to 60 calls for service between October 17th, 2016 at 5:00 a.m. and October 18th, 2016 at 5:00 a.m.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
Belleville, Ontario – On October 17th, 2016 at 4:42 p.m. police attended on River Road in relation to a car that had struck a hydro pole. The driver declined medical attention at the scene. There was minor damage to the pole, but the car was demolished. The investigation is continuing.
On October 17th, 2016 at 4:49 p.m. police attended on Highland Avenue as a car had struck a cyclist. The cyclist was not injured; nor was the driver of the car. This investigation is continuing.
On October 17th, 2016 at 9:26 p.m. police attended on Dundas St. East at Ann St. as a car had sheared off a concrete hydro pole. The driver was treated at the scene and released. Dundas Street East was closed off between William Street and Albert Street for four hours to allow Veridian crews to replace the pole. The roadway was re-opened at 1:36 a.m. The car was demolished in the accident. The investigation is continuing. Disturbances
Belleville, Ontario – On October 17th, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. police attended on Sidney Street in relation to an unwanted person. A 30-year old Ottawa woman was arrested for breach of the peace. Alcohol was a factor in this incident. There were no injuries.
On October 17th, 2016 at 11:30 p.m. police attended on Union Street as a man was breaking items in an apartment. A 35-year old Belleville man was arrested for breach of the peace. Alcohol was a factor in this incident. There were no injuries.
On October 17th, 2016, at 11:50 p.m. police attended on Donald Street at North Park Street in relation to a male passed out at the edge of the roadway. A 33-year old Peterborough man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
On October 18th, 2016 at 2:50 a.m. an officer on patrol observed a man stumbling into traffic on Coleman Street at Henry St. A 25-year old Kingston man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. He was issued a provincial offence notice for being intoxicated in a public place.
