A beloved Quinte West firefighter has lost a lengthy battle to cancer.
Jason Forth died of multiple myeloma Tuesday night at the age of 43. The 12-year firefighter is survived by his wife Michelle and three children.
Quinte West Fire Chief John Whalen remembers his friend and colleague.
Whalen said this has been a rough week as the department prepares to lay to rest Belleville Police Service Special Constable and Quinte West volunteer Ron Globe who died of cancer on October 3.
Globe was fifty-six. His celebration of life is Wednesday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the chapel at Burke Funeral Home.
