The brush fires reported southeast of Frankford earlier today turned out be planned and controlled burns.
Firefighters from Quinte West’s hall at Tucker’s Corners rushed to a wooded area at Harrington and Lebow Roads just after 8 this morning.
There, they learned that the fires were purposely set as a burn-off, and that the property owners had notified the municipality of their intentions.
