The surgery was a complete success.
Those are the words of Trent Hills Mayor Hector Macmillan Friday, after receiving treatment this week in a German hospital.
Macmillan had pancreatic cancer surgery and the treatment he had was not paid for by the Ontario government. Originally he was looking to get the treatment in Kentucky, but it would have cost more than $300,000.
The surgery was done in Germany, for about 25% that.
Macmillan talked to Quinte News from the hospital and describes the procedure.
He says he will be overseas for another week resting up. His Worship adds when he gets home, his focus is to get the surgery to Canada.
Macmillan says the provincial government better get ready for a fight.
He adds that there is a machine sitting in a Toronto hospital, which can perform the procedure, but the government will not approve it.
