As Quinte residents are rushing to pick up groceries for their Thanksgiving celebrations, Gleaners Food Bank is asking if you can grab a few more items.
Gleaners is creating food hampers and they are in need of what they call staple items.
They include dry pasta, peanut butter, canned goods, tuna and salmon, apple juice and other non-perishables.
They also welcome potatoes, onions, carrots and fruit.
It will go a long way this time of year.
In 2015, the Quinte region helped
7,570 food hampers
3,131 families
10,766 adults
6,388 children
334 seniors
272 Loyalist students
