The Ontario Fire Marshall will be on scene Thursday, following a fire in Belleville early this morning.
Crews received a call around 12:30 a.m, about smoke coming from a a townhouse at 238 Pine Street, west of Herchimer.
No one was home at the time of the blaze, which started in the living room, which had been converted into a bedroom.
There was heavy smoke damage to the rest of the unit, however, no damage to any other units.
The cause is considered suspicious.
One witness tells Quinte News they saw Belleville Police take a man out of the complex in handcuffs.
