There is no longer a legal battle with the contractor for the Quinte Sports and Wellness Centre.
Belleville Mayor Taso Christopher has confirmed to Quinte News that earlier this year, both Atlas Construction and the City of Belleville settled out of court, finalizing a multi million dollar lawsuit by both sides.
A July report indicated the two sides would move into mediated talks in February 2017, which could have lasted 6-8 weeks.
Christopher says he cannot release details on the settlement, as there in a non-disclosure agreement in place.
Several sub-contractors were also part of the complex legal battle and Christopher says they are satisfied as well.
In 2015, Director of Recreation Mark Fluhrer told Quinte News that there were issues with mechanics in the Wellness Centre, along with plumbing, roofing and electrical problems.
In 2012, Atlas was suing the City of Belleville and Crawmet Corporation for $12.6 million, for breach of contract.
In a counter-claim, the city sued Atlas Corporation for $25 million for breach of contract.
It is currently not known if there will be a monetary change to taxes or the final price of the QSWC project, once litigation costs are factored.
