While there’s lots of excitement about the arrival of the Senators AHL team to Belleville, there are also still a lot of questions about the lease agreement for use of the Yardmen Arena.
The only details that have come out, are that the agreement is for eight years, with an option to extend.
No financial terms were released, including how much rent the team will pay and how revenues from things like ticket, concession and merchandise sales will be split.
Quinte News reached out to Belleville Clerk Matt MacDonald who says he and the city’s solicitor have discussed the issue multiple times and are waiting to hear back from the other party involved, to make sure everyone’s on the same page.
MacDonald says they’re anticipating a response sometime early next week and will release any new details after that.
