The OPP held an awards ceremony Monday, to honour those who make a difference in the community and Quinte was well represented.
In Ottawa, OPP Commissioner Vince Hawkes honoured dozens of officers, volunteers and civilians, including Tim Durkin of Quinte News.
Durkin was given the St. John Live Saving Award and a letter from the Commissioner, for performing CPR on a man at the Craft Beer Festival in March.
Lisa Butcher, with St John Ambulance was also awarded. Quinte West officer Jeff Scott was also named in the rescue.
Members of Quinte West, Prince Edward and Bancroft detachments, along with 15 year old Graham Fowler received awards, letters and or commendation, for their efforts in saving lives over the past year.
