The Belleville Police Service responded to 43 calls for service between 20 Sept 2016 at 5 a.m.and 21 Sept 2016 at 5 a.m.
Domestic Assault
Belleville Ont, On 20 Sept 2016 at 1 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance at a parking lot on North Front St. It was reported that a male had been assaulting a female. Three bystanders intervened and the suspect male spit at them and uttered threats to them . Another male unknown to the involved parties came up and bear maced the suspect. He then ran away. After a police investigation a 26 yr old male was identified. His name is not being released because the charges are domestic related.
Later that day at approx. 7 p.m. the male was arrested on Donald St. He was charged with 3 counts of assault, 1 count of uttering threats and 5 counts of breach of probation. He was held for a bail hearing on 21 Sept. There were no serious injuries .
