Belleville’s mayor thinks the Quinte Economic Development Commission should spread the word locally on its successes in the economic development of the region.
At its meeting Tuesday, Mayor Taso Christopher has called on the Commission to reach out to the Chambers, sharing its reports on job development and attracting companies to the region.
Christopher was commenting on reports at the QEDC meeting that indicated company site selectors from the United States had been in the area, and that the agency had recently commissioned a report published in a number of United States business papers and magazines that showed the advantages of locating in eastern Ontario.

QEDC Executive Director Chris King says they communicate well with manufacturers but will be working on letting the local community know about the job-related programs that are available and the successes the QEDC has to date.
