A Belleville restaurant, and 11 others in Ontario has been sold.
Huge franchise operator Franchise Management Incorporated, or FMI, purchased 12 Panera Bread locations recently.
FMI operates Pizza Hut and KFC restaurants in North America, and sees the purchase of the Panera Bread locations as a good way to expand into the breakfast and lunch business.
FMI says it has plans to grow the number of Panera Bread restaurants in Canada.
