In local hockey action the Wellington Dukes defeated the Aurora Tigers 4-3. Brayden Stortz nailed two goals for the Dukes including the overtime winner.
The Dukes outshot Aurora 48-25, attendance for the game was 425. The Dukes visit Aurora Sunday night.
In their season opener the Trenton Golden Hawks filled the net with a resounding 11-2 victory over Newmarket, Lucas Brown scored four goals for the hawks. 713 fans took in the game.
