The preliminaries are over and tonight marks the beginning of the 54 game Ontario Junior Hockey League season. And for the Trenton Golden Hawks, the beginning of defending a championship.
The Golden Hawks will raise their Buckland Cup and Dudley Hewitt Cup banners prior to tonight’s game with the Newmarket Hurricanes.
Trenton brings back 10 players from last year’s championship team which was rooted in defense and goaltending. Hawks Coach and General Manager Jerome Dupont says to expect more of the same.
Trenton still has 3 goaltenders on the roster. Dupont says he will have to address that situation.
Game time is 7:30 tonight.
CJBQ will broadcast 20 Golden Hawks games this season beginning September 30th.
