Belleville’s new fire hall will host a special tribute this weekend.
Members of the public are invited to join firefighters and other emergency response staff on Sunday morning, to mark the 15th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks on New York City.
A remembrance ceremony will begin at the Bettes Street Station around 8:30 Saturday morning, honouring the 343 firefighters, 80 police officers and eight paramedics who were among those killed.
The ceremony will conclude with a tolling of the station’s bell, around 8:46, the time the first tower was hit by a passenger plane.
