Quinte West’s Corporate Finance Committee has recommended council approve giving the city’s Chamber of Commerce $1,000 after a disappointing home show last April.
Due to the long playoff run by the Trenton Golden Hawks, the dates for the home show had to be moved on short notice, leading to some vendors cancelling their spaces.
The weather was also beautiful on the home show weekend and may also have led to low attendance at the event.
The Chamber asked the city for $2,000, but the committee decided to recommend $1,000, stressing that it would be a one time grant only.
A firm date for the Quinte West Home Show has already been set for next spring.
