Both Quinte area junior teams pulled out a victory last night in comfortable fashion.
At the Duncan McDonald Memorial Gardens, the Trenton Golden Hawks rolled comfortably over the Central Canada Hockey League’s Cornwall Colts 6-1.
Newcomers Austin Bottrell and Gary Dhaliwal led the way with a goal and two assists and three assists respectively, while veterans Liam Morgan and Lucas Brown each potted a goal.
Ture Linden and Ian Vucko, both new to the G-Hawks, also added markers.
Returning goaltender Jackson McIntosh and newcomer Tyler Fassl both got action in net.
Meanwhile in the Limestone City, the Wellington Dukes finished off a home-and-home sweep of the Kingston Voyageurs with a 6-2 win at the Invista Centre.
Nicolas Mucci and newest acquisition Brayden Stortz racked up three points in the victory, while Shaw Boomhower and Austin Labelle each added two.
Overage off-season pickup Connor Ryckman got the win in net.
Both teams are back in action against each other Wednesday in Trenton.
