Construction begins Monday on a major multi-road upgrade in Belleville’s North East Industrial Park.
Businesses within the park had raised concerns about the condition of the roadways which could impact the shipment of goods if allowed to deteriorate.
Earlier this summer city council awarded the paving project to Coco Paving for a total cost of $2.94 million.
The work will include rehabilitation of the entire length of Adam Street, Jamieson Bone Road and Lahr Drive, part of University Avenue and College Street East.
The work being completed in Phase 1, road surface rehabilitation, will consist of paving the surface and ditch improvements.
Phase 2, to include sidewalks and a pedestrian trail, will be undertaken in 2017.
