Hastings County has some concerns about a proposed provincial growth plan for Eastern Ontario.
Warden Rick Phillips told county council that rural areas need a strategy to promote economic development but not restrict it because the base is so small.
Phillips said any further movement to restrict growth and allow it in Ottawa or some of the other big cities would be a real problem for rural eastern Ontario.
The province has hired consultants to study the issue.
