Residents of Trent Hills and beyond are being asked to donate to save a popular community leader’s life.
The long-time Mayor of Trent Hills, Hector Macmillan is suffering from pancreatic cancer and has discovered that treatment that might save his life is not available in Ontario, and won’t be paid for by the
provincial government if received elsewhere.
Doctors in Kentucky have the equipment and expertise to treat Mayor Macmillan’s tumour, but that would cost $320,000.
Now, the Trent Hills Fire Department has stepped in and an on-line GoFundMe account has been set up where people can donate.
If the money can be raised, Hector Macmillan will go to Kentucky for treatment.
