UPDATE: The road was re-opened around 11:00 a.m.
Drivers should avoid a stretch of Old Highway 2 in Belleville’s east end for a while Thursday morning.
A tree knocked down power lines between Elmwood and Haig Roads, and there was some arcing.
Belleville firefighters, public works, and hydro personnel are on the scene making repairs.
The part of Old Highway 2 between Elmwood and Haig Road will be closed to traffic until later today.
