Preparations continue for student transfers for a Catholic elementary school in Belleville.
Starting next month, students of Our Lady of Fatima school will begin the school year at George Vanier, due to an unsafe compound on school grounds.
Health officials say Trichloroethylene left the former Nortel property and is in the ground of the Sidney Street property.
Theresa Kennedy is the Superintendent for both schools and says plans are well underway for the relocation.
Kennedy adds that communication has been paramount in the process of moving the 150 students from Fatima to Vanier.
Work on Fatima should be complete by mid-October, with students returning shortly after.
