The Bay of Quinte Regional Chambers of Commerce are calling on the provincial government to change its focus when it comes to funding the health care system.
The Belleville and Quinte West Chambers are supporting the Ontario Chamber in asking the province to change the emphasis from cutting costs to putting more money in innovative health care development.

She says the province should support discoveries in health science by Ontario companies.

Andrews said the government is putting money into research and development and lots of companies are developing new products but they are not being put into the system.
She says it’s not all doom and gloom since the Ontario and Canadian governments do put money into research and development, and have established an office of Chief Health Strategist.
