Arrest on warrants
Belleville, Ontario – On August 15th, 2016, at 2:15 p.m. police arrested a 48-year old Belleville man on warrants on Dundas St. East. The male was held for a bail hearing on August 16th, 2016
Disturbances
Belleville, Ontario – On August 15th, 2016, at 10:25 p.m. police were kept busy with a series of disturbances on Victoria Ave. at William Street, Victoria Ave. at Ann Street, and Foster Ave. north of Bridge St. E. A 39-year old Belleville man was arrested for his own protection under the Liquor Licence Act. There were no reported injuries.
Pursuit
Belleville, Ontario – On August 16th, 2016, at 2:25 a.m. an officer on patrol attempted to stop a car on North Front Street at Tracey Street. The suspect fled north in the oncoming southbound lanes through Bell Blvd. Once past the median the car took the eastbound ramp onto the 401. The vehicle exited at Hwy 37 and stopped for police on the ramp. A 31-year old Marmora man was arrested for dangerous driving. He also provided a breath sample into a roadside screening device and registered a warning. The car was towed and the driver was issued a 3-day licence suspension. The driver had been previously released on conditions which included “abstain from alcohol”. This resulted in another charge of breach of an undertaking. He was also charged with failing to stop for police. He will appear in court on September 15th, 2016.
