If you’re a local farmer that’s been hit hard by this summer’s drought conditions, don’t worry, help may be on the way from the provincial government.
MPP Lou Rinaldi tells Quinte News the Ministry of Agriculture is looking at the most affected areas and may be handing out money as part of its risk management and crop insurance programs.
He added that even though most farmers already have their own insurance, the government has a responsibility to help them out.
Rinaldi added, that while there are plenty of farmers who need the help, there are some pockets of Ontario that are doing OK.
