The Quinte area is back under a heat warning.
Environment Canada reports the heat episode is expected on Thursday and Friday for most regions in southern Ontario. Daytime temperatures will reach low 30s with afternoon humidex values in the mid to upper 30s. Overnight lows will be near 20 degrees.
It’s expected to come to an end Friday night with the passage of a cold front.
It’s encouraged that residents frequently visit neighbours, friends and older family members, especially those who are chronically ill, to make sure that they are cool and hydrated.
Never leave people or pets in your care inside a parked vehicle or in direct sunlight.
Prepare meals that don’t need to be cooked in your oven.
Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
