A special ceremony at CFB Trenton Thursday morning will involve a change of command and the presentation of a Memorial Cross.
In the Change of Command ceremony, Major Ryan Lizotte will succeed Major Allen Ferris as commanding officer of 8 Air Communication and Control Squadron.
Promoted to his current rank in 2013, Major Lizotte was posted to 1 Canadian Air Division Headquarters in Winnipeg where he held various positions including A6 Information Management, A6 Operations and CAOC TIS Mission Support, and Deputy A6.
The Memorial Cross will be presented to the late Master Corporal Melvyn Hearns who was posted to CFB Trenton from 1983 to 1992, and died of cancer in 2015.
It will be accepted by his widow, Mary Hearns.
