A grass fire on some farmland in Prince Edward County has been extinguished.
Crews were called to 812 Lakeside Drive in Consecon, not long after 3:00 p.m. and were on scene dealing with the flames for about half an hour.
Firefighters worked as quickly as possible and were able to keep the fire away from a barn nearby.
No other major structures were in any danger.
The exact size of the blaze and what caused it, aren’t known at this time, but we’ll update the story as more details are available.
