A Belleville man was arrested and charged not once, but twice early last night in west end Bellleville.
Belleville police responded to a residence on Charlotte Street after reports of a disturbance. After an investigation a 56 year old man was arrested on warrants in Quinte West for theft under $5,000.
He was released and not much later police had to return to the same address on a domestic call and arrested the same man again.
This time he was charged with assault and uttering threats. No one was injured. He is in custody for a bail hearing this (Monday) afternoon.
In other city police news, there was drunken rowdiness on Tripp Boulevard in Belleville just after midnight overnight.
City police had to respond to reports of a disturbance.
Upon arriving, officers found a Tripp Boulevard resident holding a man down on the ground, waiting for
for police.
A 42 year old man was arrested for public intoxication.
